Meteor Crater is the spectacular result of a collision that rocked the American Southwest approximately 50,000 years ago with the energy of more than 20 million tons of TNT. Situated under the wide skies of the Arizona High Desert, Meteor Crater offers an interactive educational experience for the entire family in a beautiful, natural setting.
Regular admission includes: Access to the Discovery Center, housing interactive displays containing information about meteorites, asteroids, impact cratering mechanics, and the formation of Meteor Crater; "IMPACT, The Mystery of Meteor Crater" movie shown in our Big Screen Theater; the Astronaut Wall of Fame; Three Lookout Points featuring spectacular views of Meteor Crater and breathtaking desert landscape; and, A guided Rim Tour. Visitors should allow at least two hours for the entire experience.
